Optimizing Drilling and Blasting through Digital Mass Flow Analysis
-
Hanson Hispania S.A.U. operates the Valdilecha quarry in Spain, extracting lime both as an aggregate for concrete and as a filler for paints and coatings.
-
Seven mining machines were retrofitted with abaut hardware to continuously capture digital mass flow data and connected to the abaut platform, SiteView OS, including one hydraulic excavator and six dumpers.
-
By capturing every machine’s activity in second-by-second detail and transmitting this data, the extraction of blasted material from each blast field is continuously analyzed and visualized in the abaut dashboard.
-
Each blast field is geographically defined in the abaut interface, ensuring that every loaded material quantity is precisely attributed to its origin. Adjustments to blasting parameters during optimization efforts can influence the grain size of the muckpile and, consequently, the energy consumption of the primary crusher.
-
Automatically captured digital mass flow data ensures objective, reliable data collection, even in an environment of constantly changing blasting parameters.
